SQ 116 - Box Corner Middle Cross
SQ 116 - Box Corner Middle Cross
* May vary based on wall thickness
The SQ116 Box Corner Middle Cross fittings joins three Square Hollow Section (SHS) bars together to make a corner structure. Each SHS bar is attached at a 90-degree angle from the other bar with one passing horizontally through the middle of the fitting.
Designed for both indoor and outdoor projects, these fittings feature our easy slip-on and tightens connection system which only requires a hex key to secure.
- For a fitting to suit circular tube instead use TC116 Corner Middle Cross.
Common Usage
We commonly see these fittings used in railing applications. They can be used as corner pieces for middle rails, or for top rails in addition to an end cap.
They can used to build just about any rectangular structure, such as desks, bed frames and other furniture, handrail corners and racking structures.
- Often paired with SQ128 Box Corner Top Cross.

Which fitting size do I chose?
We offer our Boxclamp fittings in two sizes according to Australian standard square bar sizes, ranging from 25 x 25mm to 40 x 40mm.
To select the right fitting, simply measure the outside diameter (OD) of your pipe and choose the corresponding fitting size.
For example, if your bar has a 40mm outside diameter, you would select the SHS 40x 40mm fitting size.
