Heavy duty strap/clamp are used to secure pipe in various vertical and horizontal locations. They are available in a number of different pipe sizes and configurations of pipe. All are hot dip galvanised for long life.
Our Wall Strap (Tight Fit) option is used for mounting tube to solid surface, such as walls or wooden fencing, or for attached signage to tube structures. Alternative our Gate Hinge (Loose Fit) option is used to attach chain link gates to flat posts or wooden fencing when paired with one of our gudgeon options.
- If you are using this product as a gate hinge alongside products such as our Fence Fitting Gudgeons we recommend choosing our Gate Hinge (Loose Fit) option as the fitting is longer.
- Gate Hinge (Loose fit) version comes in A27OD (20NB) and B34OD (25NB) only
- Pair the Gate Hinge (Loose Fit) with the DF SA - Hinge Attachment to improve gate stability and reduce movement and sway.

Which fitting size do I chose?
We offer fittings that suit most standard tube sizes sold in Australia. To pick the correct fitting for you, first you need to measure the tube you intend on using to find out its OD (Outside Diameter). You can use this size to choose the corresponding fitting size.
For example, our size B34 is suited to 34mm OD tube.

Tru Post v Butt Rails
Our range of fence fittings is specifically designed to facilitate the connection of tubes of varying sizes. Certain fittings offer multiple connection points, allowing for the insertion of your tube. The Tru Post and Butt Rails serve as representations of these connections.
The term "Tru Post" is a shortened form of "Through Post," indicating that the tube or post passes through the fitting, such as the top of the T in a tee fitting. On the other hand, the Butt Rails are utilized to terminate the tube.
To illustrate this concept, let's consider two examples. Firstly, a Tee fitting is employed at the top of a fence. In this case, the Tru Post refers to the section where the horizontal tube passes through, while the vertical post is referred to as the Rail Butt.
Alternatively, the Tee fitting can be utilized to connect a middle rail to an end post. In this scenario, the Tru Post connects to the vertical post, while the Rail Butt supports the horizontal rail.

Unsure what Tru and Butt means?
'Tru' (short for Through) and 'Butt' (or rail) are the designated connection points for tubes in a fence fitting. In the Tee example depicted on the left, the 'Tru' indicates the location where the tube passes through the fitting, while the 'Butt' indicates where a tube terminates in the fitting.
However, for the DF X Fixed Cross, the 'Tru' is replaced with 'Post' while still representing the through connection. If you are uncertain about which connection corresponds to each point, particularly for fittings that join tubes of different sizes, please do not hesitate to contact us for further clarification.
What is OD and NB?
OD refers to the diameter of the outside of a tube. We refer to this using milimeter measurements such as C42mm or D48mm.
NB refers to the diameter of the hollow inside of a tube. It is traditionally refered to using Imperial measurements such as 1 & 1/4", or 1 & 1/2" or using NB such as 32NB and 40NB. Older tube and fittings was often made with these measurements in mind.
