Frequently Asked Questions

Longer lengths of tube?

Due to limitations set by our courier partners, we offer a limited selection of tube lengths for purchase online. If you are interested in tube longer than 3.0m (up to and including full lengths of 6.5m), you will need to contact us directly for a quote.

Please note that orders of longer than 1.8m outside of Metro Sydney & Melbourne may incur considerable freight fees. The same is true for Metro orders of 6.0m, or longer, that do not fit on roof racks.

What is your tube made from?

Our steel tube is made from 250MPa steel with a Hot Dipped Galvanised (Dura Gal) finish. Our aluminium tube is made from 6060 grade aluminium with a Mill finish.

Alternatively, we offer a powdercoating option, at additional cost. If you are interested in powdercoating, please contact us directly for a customised quote.

Metric or Imperial?

You'll see a table that compares various international measurements in the 'Size Guide' section below the product details at the top of this page.

Which fitting size do i chose?

We offer fittings in six different sizes according to Australian standard pipe sizes, ranging from 21mm to 60mm. To select the right fitting, simply measure the outside diameter (OD) of your pipe and choose the corresponding fitting size.

For example, if your pipe has a 48mm outside diameter, you would select the D48 fitting size.

Why is the fitting bigger then my tube?

Our fittings are intentionally made slightly larger than the pipes they correspond to, so that they can easily slide onto both straight and bent bars. If you're worried that the gap might be too big, you can try replacing the grubscrews/setscrews with longer ones.
